December Weather Data

December was a wet one plus many cities broke annual rainfall totals. Paducah Recorded 74.51" Click on the rainfall amount to see Climate Data for Paducah for 2011.  Temperatures were not bad compared to last years but there were many cloudy days.  Below is the high, lows and averages of the month.  Overall not a bad month temperature wise, rain slowed many out side projects, no major thunderstorm or wind damage events overall. Looking ahead to January temps will more than likely dip and be colder on average compared to December though we may see some above average temps spikes, we'll see how it plays out.

November Weather data and highlights

November was among the five wettest Novembers on record.  

Paducah, KY had 10 inches for the month click on the above to read more about the rain event.

 

As I am blogging this there is about 1.97" in the automatic rain gauge recorded, what better into than to have this song to go along with current conditions.

 The auto rain gauge had 13.69" here at Calvert City, KY.  Draffenville, KY was 8.77", Mayfield, KY was 10.62", Murray, KY was 9.57", Hickman, KY was 10.03", Marion, KY was 9.04", Madisonville, KY was 8.61", Princeton, KY was 9.11", Henderson, KY was 7.76"  and Hopkinsville, KY was 11.50",with the largest amount.

As a whole for the State and yearly rainfall we are currently 12.61" above average.

The other issue is what is this doing to river stages well it doesn't take much to figure out it is making them rise high.

 It would be a easy guess to say the crest is going to move up after all this rain comes thru what it will be depends on what the hydrologist determine.

October Weather Data

  First I apologize for not posting this sooner but have been busy with several different projects.  October is a month of seeing the last of the 80's for a little while.  Its a month that we start to see killing frost and low humidity.  Its the inverse of April would be a good simile, if we were comparing the two in the temperature category.   Below are the highs and lows of the month along with daily data in the other table.  October 16th was the high temp day and the 29th was the low temp day.  The 16th also recorded the highest wind gust and wind speed.  You can see where high pressure was in control for the start of the month and on the 13th the bottom drops out on pressure and we get our first rain for the month as well.  Wind was most dominate from the south.  Will post more on November in the next week or two.
