March Rains Bring?

This next storm coming Sunday night and Monday could be even more severe than the one on Thursday.  Temps will be in the upper 60's throughout the region.  Make sure you have a plan and a secure place to go if conditions become severe. The forecast outlook for the week looks good with the exception of Sunday and Monday.  Temps in the lower 60's to high 50's for highs with a few cool  to cold mornings for lows.  These storms more than likely will be coming in at different intervals possible from 3PM this afternoon (Sunday) into the early morning tomorrow (Monday) say up to 12 noon.  Be prepared keep a ear to the weather radio.

The GFS 12z model is showing this below for the Morning of 2/28/11.

Rain amounts are forecast to be lower than for the last event. In the neighborhood of 1" to2".  Still flooding  may be a problem considering the saturated ground.  If water is over the roadway remember turn around don't drown!!!

The scary part out of this system is the temperature difference.  Temperatures are predicted to be in the high 60's and the Low coming in will be Cold air.  Dropping temperatures down as it goes thru. Generally, as warm and cold air masses collide it yields' high winds, rain, thunderstorms and tornadoes.  It is also forecasted for early morning around 6AM when people will be getting up or starting to go to work and school.  Not a great scenario.

The long range outlook is more chances for precipitation in the following 10-15 day outlook.  Temperatures in 10 to 15 days outlook are cooler and less seasonable.  May see teens again in the 10-15 day outlook, hard to say for sure ,but the possible exist.  Will update on the upcoming storm as new info becomes available.  I will update thru Facebook and Twitter so use Les's Weather Links on Facebook for updates.
